Crimes against children are on the rise. One prevalent crime is child trafficking. On July 4th the movie The Sound of Freedom was released which brought to life the realities of child trafficking. The film stars Jim Caviezel and Mira Sorvino and is based on an incredible true story, which shines a light on even the darkest of places.

After rescuing a young boy from ruthless child traffickers, a federal agent learns the boy's sister is still captive and decides to embark on a dangerous mission to save her. With time running out, he quits his job and journeys deep into the Colombian jungle, putting his life on the line to free her from a fate worse than death. This underpublicized criminal enterprise is running rampant in San Diego and globally.

This movie was initially vilified and panned by much of the media as conspiracy theory.  As viewership of the movie increased and gained support because people agree the exploitation of children is abhorrent, the general media changed it's tune.  Instead they attempted to discredit those involved in the film.  One must wonder why there was so much effort by the media to dissuade people from going to this movie?
